Day 2, traveling through North Dakota

Ok, we now have 2 nights spent on train. Sleeping ok but hard to get comfortable. Pretty scenery, now going through farm and lake areas of North Dakota. Met Clinton, from Minot North Dakota, in the observation car. Oil worker. Travelling from Fargo, family lives in LA. Says ND is 2nd largest oil producing state behind Texas, and Rugby is the geographic center of North America. So, Rugby ND has the 3rd largest concentration of nuclear missiles in the world, as its location is the hardest to send a missile to.

Well, we’re on our way on our 2 wk vacation. To the northwest. Nick and I (jack r) left last nite from Rochester ny, while gmom Rieger and jack mertzy left early this morn from Cincinnati. We met in Chicago, no problems finding each other, Amtrak agents very helpful. Spent a few hours in and around union station, and now on our way to Essex MT. Train left 215 sharp. We boarded early which was nice.
